Patti’s Spirit Lives! KidsArtEd Fundraiser

Launching “Patti’s Spirit Lives! KidsArtEd Fund” in conjunction with “Patti’s Spirit Lives! 40 Year Art Retrospective” at ICA San Diego / Central (Balboa Park).

VIP donor preview: April 27th, 2022 from 5-7 pm

On View: April 28th – May 1st, 2022

ICA San Diego will present a 250 selection retrospective from 500 contemporary artworks by Patti Cooprider, spanning over four decades of creation. Artworks will be on view for one weekend only, from April 28 – May 1, 2022. The presentation of work will coincide with the formation of the “Patti’s Spirit Lives KidsArtEd Fund”, an endowment in Patti Cooprider’s name that will provide FREE access to arts education for underserved San Diego youth ages 5-17 through ICA San Diego’s onsite classes and outreach programs.

For those who make donations to Patti’s KidsArtEd Fund in an amount of $500 or more will be able to choose an artwork from the exhibition to take home. For any donations made at $1,000 or more, Donor Option will be able to designate 25% of their gift to be distributed to one of six partnering organizations to support kids education/scholarships: ArtReach, A Reason To Survive , Patrons of the Prado, New Children’s Museum, Arts Education Connection, or ArtsBusXpress.

Patti’s dream to provide “Every child in the world experience [the] creation & love of art” is exemplified in ICA San Diego’s vision “to be everywhere, for everyone.” All donations made to the ICA in Patti’s name will be divided between arts education for local underserved youth this year NOW, and FUTURE an endowment fund that will fund scholarships for years to come, preserving Patti’s spirit through her dream of providing access to the arts for all children.

Determined to offer creative, accessible, and experimental opportunities for all individuals, ICA San Diego is eager to grow our scholarship fund to support local students. ICA San Diego currently offers classes, camps, and workshops to students at both our Encinitas and Balboa Park campuses.  As we grow as an equitable and accessible organization, ICA San Diego’s Patti’s Spirit Lives! KidsArtFund will provide full and partial scholarships to our underserved, Title-I, and military communities to ensure everyone has the opportunity to benefit from a well-rounded arts education – exactly as Patti had envisioned.
