What is the ICA San Diego Gala? It’s an evening w What is the ICA San Diego Gala?

It’s an evening where art, community, and purpose come together.

Our annual gala celebrates the work we’ve built over the past year—exhibitions, programs, and experiences—while raising support to continue expanding access to contemporary art in our region.

From immersive installations and performances to dinner and a late-night afterparty, the night is designed as an experience that reflects who we are and where we’re going.

Join us in celebrating five years of ICA San Diego—and helping shape what comes next.

We usually think of art as something emotional… bu We usually think of art as something emotional…
but it’s physical too.

From lowering stress to activating your brain,
art has real effects on your body.

So the next time you walk into a museum,
pause a little longer.

Your mind — and your body —
will thank you for it.

✨ We’re excited to introduce our 2026 Artist in Re ✨ We’re excited to introduce our 2026 Artist in Residence, Eden DeLaVara.

As part of ICA San Diego’s Artist-in-Residence program, Eden will receive dedicated studio space, a stipend, and material support while developing new work toward a future exhibition.

Meet @edendelavara :

A native San Diegan, Eden DeLaVara is a mixed media artist who explores the desire for belonging and comfort through the lens of her Mexican-American and Black identities. Drawing inspiration from artistic traditions within the Black community—particularly the Gee’s Bend Quilters—her work captures everyday moments that center Black joy, self-reflection, and ancestral connection.

Her recent practice engages quilting and fiber art as a way to navigate and reconcile the complexities of identity, home, and memory—unraveling and reweaving what it means to belong.

We’re honored to support Eden’s practice and excited for what’s to come!
