Shellie Zhang Studio Series + Art of Elan
Join us as we learn more about artist-in-residence Shellie Zhang’s work and life through a perspective-shaping conversation between her and contemporary composer, Lei Llang. Then, enjoy a musical interpretation by Art of Elan.
Experience visual and auditory experiences that explore the works of ICA San Diego Artist-in-Resident, Shellie Zhang. The evening will begin with an artist talk by Zhang, who will give us insight into her artistic practice, ideas, and research centered on diasporic communities, marketplaces, and Chinatowns. Zhang will discuss the two bodies of work in her exhibition, What We Bring and Leave, and her new residency project.
ICA San Diego is thrilled to collaborate with Art of Elan for a season of programs inspired by ICA San Diego’s Artists-in-Residence highlighting different artistic approaches to the expression of ideas. Art of Elan will be working closely with each Artist-in-Residence to create a program inspired by the themes in the artist’s work.
