4pm – 6pm I Family Activity in The Hub
Dive into the world of storytelling inspired by the ICA’s Valise Project artist, Jim Lawrence and his Story Box valise.
Mold characters with clay and create the stage for one of the most ancient ways of community bonding. Tell us a story!
5pm – 6pm I Panel Discussion feat. Dr. Pinar Yoldas and Guests in the Mingei Theater
Drawing the Line: How is Gene Modification Transforming Culture? Pinar Yoldas’s exhibition raises questions about life in a genetically-modified future. Please join us for a conversation between the artist, bioethicist Dr. Mary Devereaux, and Ethan Bier, Professor in UCSD’s Department of Cell and Developmental Biology, to discuss how these technologies are changing the way we live–and how far we should take them.
6pm – 8pm I Music in the Gallery
Music by Doodem, a duo operating a sonical playground to help heal intellectual fatigue. AHO.
