Youth Ceramic, 6-week Spring II Session on Mondays with Atlas Pante
Kids will learn how to shape clay as a way to express their creativity. As they make different things to take home, they will learn how to throw on the wheel, build by hand, and glaze projects. Whether they make a pot or a sculpture of an animal, students will learn to pay attention, follow through, and understand how important it is to be committed. Wear clothes that can get messy!
Materials Included.
Teaching Artist:
Atlas Pante
After years of being involved in the local San Diego arts community, Atlas traveled to Northern California to earn a Bachelor’s in Art Education and Art History at Humboldt State University. Now as an educator, they prioritizes play, exploration and discovery with his students, encouraging them to build knowledge by problem solving, using their imagination, and collaborating with others. In Atlas’s classroom, no idea is too big or small, because they strive to create a space where students can bring their wildest ideas to the table and have the tools and confidence to bring them to life.
