From elegant receptions to corporate holiday parties, ICA San Diego is the perfect venue for any celebration. Whether you love art or are drawn to a garden landscape, we provide a unique setting that can be conveniently catered to any event.
Weddings
Make use of our beautiful space for your rehearsal, ceremony, dinner, reception, or any combination thereof.We offer flexible setup and closing times, meaning you can prepare the space in advance of your event to make it as stress-free as possible. You also have the opportunity to bring any caterer or food service you desire. Our space can accommodate food trucks, booths, stands, and so on; we are also happy to provide a list of recommended vendors if you seek suggestions.
Graduations and Fundraisers
ICA San Diego offers a unique, creative environment for any sort of school function. Our space is ideal for graduation parties, proms, senior breakfasts, and so on, with space for food & an amphitheater for a DJ or Live music. We can also accommodate fundraisers, and as part of our education initiative, ICA San Diego offers negotiable prices for local schools. This venue is a creative experience for students of any age.
Corporate
Take a break from the office and bring your company to ICA. Our space is optimal for offsetting meetings with creative ventures; you can make use of our private studios and projector for presentations, then lunch in the garden or experience a tour of our two gallery spaces. Or, join us outside of work hours for your company’s holiday party or festive event.
Host your Comic Con event at ICA San Diego
The Institute of Contemporary Art San Diego is a dynamic space situated in the bustling center of Balboa Park, just a five minute walk from the Comic Con Museum. This lofted, 7000 square foot plus 2500 sq ft of back office space is equipped with storages and exhibition walls ready for customization. The space can welcome up to 500 guests and offers vast options for AV configuration. Our expert Events team is ready to help bring your vision to life!

Kids Birthday Party Package
Our beautiful campus in Encinitas provides the perfect setting for a birthday party, Reservations can be booked on Saturdays from 11:00am to 1:00pm, with an additional hour before and after the party to allow for set-up and clean-up. Please give 4 weeks notice to reserve your date.
ICA North
ICA North is located on a five‐acre parcel overlooking the San Elijo Lagoon and is surrounded by a wildlife preserve that stretches two miles to the Pacific Ocean. Discreetly nestled in the hillside above the San Elijo Lagoon, the facility reflects the open relationship ICA fosters between art and environment.
Education Pavilion and Garden
The Education Pavilion is the largest event space we offer. With the beautiful garden we can comfortably accommodate up to 300 people. When guests arrive, they have the exclusive opportunity to enter through our EP gallery that showcases a regional artist. Guests are encouraged to view the art, before they make their way to the garden space. Our four large art studios open onto a plush, spacious garden and an inviting open-air amphitheater. With its natural beauty, the garden can be transformed into virtually anything you desire. Under the market lights, the garden can fully accommodate room for things like ceremony seating, dinner seating, a dance floor, DJ, food vendors, a bar, projector for presentations, or easels for a birthday party.
Education Pavilion and Studio 2
From the main entrance, through Studio two is where your guest will access the garden space. With a spacious marble countertop, wood shelving and bar, studio two is a great option for a grab and go display of hors d’oeuvres or dessert. Studio two may also be used for storage the night before your event. In addition, this studio is an excellent space to host corporate and creative meetings out of the office. With a built in projector, this space can be utilized for presentations and a change of scenery for you and your team.
Artist Pavilion and Gallery
As a recipient of the Top Design award and recognized by The San Diego Architectural Foundation, the Artist Pavilion is a piece of art in and of itself. The artist pavilion is home to our residency program. With this, guests will have the opportunity to have exclusive access to art done by the international artist in residence. Up the hillside and before entering the gallery space, the pavilion offers an outdoor oasis. Included with a patio and stage tucked within nature, perfect for a small band or DJ. Outdoor at the pavilion also offers a space for guests to relax, with a handful of cafe style tables and chairs. Once inside, renters also have access to our 12 seat long conference room. Ideal for private meetings and food displays. With its light, bright, and airy gallery space the Pavillion is great for pre-ceremony and photos during cocktail hour. *Restrictions may apply

Event Restrictions
• Set up can begin as early as 11 AM
• All event/music must end by 10 PM
• Clean up after event must be done day of by coordinators hired staff or party goers
• Vendors and special events clients are responsible for set up and clean up of event (trash, decor, etc)
• Rentals must be picked up same day as event

ICA Central is a versatile 5,000 square foot gallery located in the heart of Balboa Park, ICA Central is an impeccable location whatever your occasion. Available for rent in the midst of art (or not!). ICA is ADA accessible.

Booking
Prospective renters must officially book at least two weeks before the event. An additional discount will be given to those with an ICA Membership. To officially reserve and event date the client must submit signed event contract and security deposit.
