Thank you!

Thank you to all who contributed to our Donation Drive in various ways this weekend in response to the fires in Los Angeles County. With your support, we:

  • Filled 4 moving trucks’ worth of supplies for delivery to LA-based organizations on the ground coordinating relief efforts for those displaced by the fires, including Snail Farm LA, The Sidewalk Project, 9thirtyLA, United Native American Movement
  • Welcomed more than 300 volunteers over the weekend to sort and pack items, and load up the trucks for delivery
  • Received more than 1,537 vehicles between Friday and Sunday, full of donated items

The Institute of Contemporary Art San Diego would like to express our sympathy for all of those affected by the fires in the Los Angeles area. As an organization committed to building a vibrant community through the transformational power of art, we would like to offer our North campus in Encinitas as a donation drop-off site for needed items as requested by organizations on the ground in Los Angeles.

*We will continue to receive donations through the weekend! 

Saturday & Sunday (1/11 & 1/12), 9am – 2pm at ICA San Diego / North in Encinitas

*Donating socks/undergarments, First Aid, toiletries/hygiene products? Please make sure they are NEW or UNOPENED. NO CLOTHING is needed except socks and undergarments, we appreciate you!

*Our ICA San Diego / North (Encinitas) campus Garden is available to members of the community displaced by the LA fires. Please come and utilize the space for your remote work needs (or simply come to breathe some fresh air, meditate beneath the trees, whatever you need), MON – FRI, 9am – 5pm. WiFi available.

Institute of Contemporary Art San Diego to Serve as Donation Drop-Off Site to Aid in Los Angeles Area Fires Relief Efforts 

Encinitas campus to begin accepting donations Friday, January 10

Who: 

ICA San Diego / North in Encinitas

1578 S El Camino Real

What: 

ICA San Diego will serve as a donation drop off site for items needed to deliver to relief organizations serving the communities affected by the Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, Lidia, Kenneth, and other fires in Los Angeles County. Items will be delivered to organizations on the ground in LA County, including, but not limited to: 

  • Superchief Gallery LA
  • All Power Books

Items needed include:

  • Toiletries and hygiene products
  • Non-perishable food and water (for people and pets)
  • First Aid supplies
  • Masks of all kinds
  • Insulin, epipens, Albuterol
  • Boxes for storage and transport
  • Batteries
  • Socks and undergarments for children and adults 

When:

  • Donations will be received beginning Friday, January 10 at 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Future drop off dates/times will be announced at a later date.
  • To ensure your donation is properly sorted and loaded into ICA San Diego’s delivery vehicles, please do not leave donations overnight.
