Patti Cooprider Scholarship: Summer Camp

Patti Cooprider’s dream of giving, “every child in the world the creation and appreciation of art” is exemplified by ICA San Diego’s goal of “being everywhere, for everyone.”

Through the generosity of our donors, we are able to provide scholarships for our Summer Art Camp to 27 students this year.

ICA San Diego provides the perfect environment for children to explore their creativity and learn new art skills. Our camps are designed to encourage critical thinking and problem-solving, while also providing a fun and creative experience.

Summer Camp weeks available for 100% scholarships at ICA Central in Balboa Park:

Camp for 8 – 10 years old

July 11th – 15th – Learning from the masters:

Campers will create masterpieces inspired by famous artists such as Henri Matisse, Georgia O’Keeffe, Yayoi Kusama, and Minerva Cuevas among others. Campers will learn about different mediums and surfaces, color theory, and techniques. A little bit of art history with a contemporary twist and a lot of hands-on.

August 1st – August 5th – Time Capsule:

Travel through time and learn about different eras, cultures, and architecture. Campers will create objects that represent a moment in time. Draw, paint, collage, and create while visiting historical and futuristic locations!

Camp for 11 – 13 years old

August 8th – 12th – Mystical Makers:

From dragons to unicorns, mermaids to gnomes, this camp is all about imagination! Campers will do a variety of art activities to learn how to associate three-dimensional shapes and objects to make an art piece while enjoying time making puppets using dyed fabrics, wands made out of fibers, kaleidoscopes, and more!

We encourage any parents interested in receiving support from the Patti Cooprider Scholarship Fund to subscribe their kids to ICA Summer Camp, to submit an application by July 31st, 2022
