C You Saturday! – April 2024

Please join us at ICA San Diego / Central on Saturday, April 20 in celebration of Dr. Pinar Yoldas’ first solo exhibition in the U.S., Synaptic Sculpture.

This free art event in San Diego is part of ICA’s commitment to reduce barriers to contemporary art in our community.

4pm – 5pm I View Gallery

Enjoy Pinar Yoldas’ exhibition, Synaptic Sculpture.

4pm – 6pm I Family Activity in The Hub

Learn the history of an African American folk art tradition with Marcus Kenney’s “Art and Artefact” project as part of ICA’s Valise program. Families will make their own memory jugs out of glass bottles and found materials while exploring Kenney’s art practice and Geppetto’s Jug series.

6pm – 8pm I Music in the Gallery

Music by Da Emem.

4pm – 8pm I View Gallery, Food, Drinks, Socializing

Walk through Pinar Yoldas’ exhibition, Synaptic Sculpture with ICA San Diego Curator, Jordan Karney Chaim and artist. Observe a live painting performance in which Yoldas will combine elements of nature, science, and her own imagination into a fantastical landscape. Enjoy bites by Bica (@bica_sd), and espresso martinis featuring Humboldt vodka (@humboldtdistillery) and Sun Drop Coffee (@sundrop.coffee). Music by Da Emem.
