C You Saturday! – Art of Elan with Danielle Dean, Letha Wilson, & Art Night Encinitas
Please join us for an evening of celebration as we get a sneak peek of a musical collaboration between ICA artist-in-residence Danielle Dean and composer Mason Bynes, and unveil the first commissioned sculpture for the ICA San Diego / North Garden. The ICA will also be one of the stops on the Art Night Encinitas shuttle. As always, there will be food and drinks for purchase, and free family-friendly art activities to enjoy!

4:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Inspired by Danielle Dean!
Step into a miniature world of your own creation, layer and play with depth as you transform a diorama into a new space.
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM | “Creating Sound” – Art of Elan Performance | Garden
See a new musical work come to life during this open workshop of an Art of Elan commissioned film score written by composer Mason Bynes in 2023 in collaboration with ICA artist-in-residence Danielle Dean. Together, Bynes and Dean will provide insight to the creative process behind this collaboration.
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM | Unveiling of Letha Wilson’s sculpture in the Garden & Artist Talk
Sit down with New York-based artist Letha Wilson to learn about her new work, Pacific Coast View Holes Steel – the first-ever commissioned sculpture for the ICA North Garden! Wilson will discuss her unique approach to landscape, photography, and sculpture, and then open the floor to questions.

Born and Raised in San Diego, DJ Stevie Ortega’s main focus is to help cultivate the Latin community with music sets, roots and style. His Musica del Barrio will be a mix of psychedelic Latin trance grooves.
