Fall of Freedom Activation: Food Drive + Art Making
Join ICA + Friends for a Fall of Freedom Activation: Food Drive + Art Making
ICA Central on Friday, November 21st from 10am-2pm
Please join ICA San Diego in participating in a community food drive aimed at impacting our friends and neighbors who have been recently affected by the loss of SNAP benefits & furloughed federal workers. There are community members who have lost their ability to access food for their families, and rely on mutual aid now more than ever. We believe that freedom of expression is vital, and art museums are centers of free expression, while also being spaces where community is built.
What to expect:
ICA encourages our community to participate in a one day Food Drive where we will collect non-perishable items listed below. In addition to the food drive, ICA will also be hosting a positive message board, and teaching visitors on how to create art with found materials around the home. Materials will be provided!
Food Drive Items:
- Ready-to-eat meals like canned soups, ravioli and chili.
- proteins like peanut butter, tuna, salmon, or chicken
- Kitchen essentials like cooking oil and spices
- No open or partially consumed packages.
- No nearly expired food.
- No home canned or baked goods.
All donated food items will be dropped off with Feeding San Diego. If you are unable to attend the food drive, please consider donating directly to Feeding San Diego HERE. (@feedingsandiego)
