Weddings
Make use of our beautiful space for your rehearsal, ceremony, dinner, reception, or any combination thereof.We offer flexible setup and closing times, meaning you can prepare the space in advance of your event to make it as stress-free as possible. You also have the opportunity to bring any caterer or food service you desire. Our space can accommodate food trucks, booths, stands, and so on; we are also happy to provide a list of recommended vendors if you seek suggestions.
Graduations and Fundraisers
ICA San Diego offers a unique, creative environment for any sort of school function. Our space is ideal for graduation parties, proms, senior breakfasts, and so on, with space for food & an amphitheater for a DJ or Live music. We can also accommodate fundraisers, and as part of our education initiative, ICA San Diego offers negotiable prices for local schools. This venue is a creative experience for students of any age.
Corporate
Take a break from the office and bring your company to ICA. Our space is optimal for offsetting meetings with creative ventures; you can make use of our private studios and projector for presentations, then lunch in the garden or experience a tour of our two gallery spaces. Or, join us outside of work hours for your company’s holiday party or festive event.
Ceramics Private Group Bookings
Join us for your next corporate event, birthday, or bachelor/ette party! Group bookings offer an exclusive and personalized experience for friends, families, and colleagues to explore the art of ceramics together. These sessions provide access to a fully-equipped studio, where participants can engage in hands-on activities under the guidance of experienced instructors. Whether celebrating a special occasion, fostering team-building, or simply enjoying a creative outing, groups will benefit from tailored instruction and the opportunity to create unique ceramic pieces. The intimate setting ensures a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a memorable and artistic group activity.
Group bookings can accommodate up to 15 participants.
Kids Birthday Party Package
Rent the Ceramics studio out for a guided wheel-throwing experience, led by our experienced instructors. Group bookings can accommodate up to 15 participants. Reservations can be booked on Saturdays, please give 4 weeks notice to reserve your date.
ICA North
ICA North is located on a five‐acre parcel overlooking the San Elijo Lagoon and is surrounded by a wildlife preserve that stretches two miles to the Pacific Ocean. Discreetly nestled in the hillside above the San Elijo Lagoon, the facility reflects the open relationship ICA fosters between art and environment.
The Garden at the Education Pavilion
From weddings to fundraisers and galas, the ICA North Garden is the perfect venue for your next social gathering. This rental includes amenities like... If you need more space, ask about extending to your rental to include more of our campus like our Sculpture Trail and Artist Pavilion gallery. Book your next Corporate retreat in the ICA North Garden. We have rotating exhibitions of contemporary art so your team can be surrounded by creativity. We offer a small meeting space for breakout groups. The surrounding acres include a Sculpture Trail and will give your team the best of both nature and art.
Ceramics Studio
Join us for your next corporate event, birthday, or bachelor/ette party! Group bookings offer an exclusive and personalized experience for friends, families, and colleagues to explore the art of ceramics together. These sessions provide access to a fully-equipped studio, where participants can engage in hands-on activities under the guidance of experienced instructors. Group bookings can accommodate up to 15 participants. Please note that there is an additional $20 charge per piece for trim plus choice of glaze and firing.
Board Room
Take advantage of our private board room at the museum, outfitted with digital equipment, to handle your important business meetings. Be surrounded by art including a painting made at the museum and a unique light fixture by local artist Roman de Salvo. You will have access to a small kitchen with plates and flatware, a coffee machine, sink, refrigerator, and microwave.

ICA Central is a versatile 5,000 square foot gallery located in the heart of Balboa Park, ICA Central is an impeccable location whatever your occasion. Available for rent in the midst of art (or not!). ICA is ADA accessible.

Host your Comic Con event at ICA San Diego The Institute of Contemporary Art San Diego is a dynamic space situated in the bustling center of Balboa Park, just a five minute walk from the Comic Con Museum. This lofted, 7000 square foot plus 2500 sq ft of back office space is equipped with storages and exhibition walls ready for customization. Booking
Prospective renters must officially book at least two weeks before the event. An additional discount will be given to those with an ICA Membership. To officially reserve an event date the client must submit signed event contract and security deposit.
