This year has been a challenging one for many of us. We’ve seen a lot of upheaval and change in society. With these challenges, we must also find a space for healing. This year’s season of exhibitions, aptly titled “On Healing” have allowed the ICA San Diego community to engage in the solemnity and joy of individual and collective healing practices.
As we shift from one season to the next, we see a progression of conceptual approach. In 2026, we are pleased to launch our new season, “The Hours Have Lost Their Clocks”, a reference to a book by Grafton Tanner, that investigates concepts of nostalgia. Our curator, Dr. Jordan Karney Chaim, expands on this concept over two years, balancing the past and speculative future, united by a sense of longing. Through diverse, intergenerational perspectives, these exhibitions examine how we reconcile our present, reckon with our past, and imagine our future.
We are pleased to expand on our existing programs by partnering with other organizations and utilizing our spaces for respite, enjoyment, and healing. This year has been focused on making sure your experience at ICA San Diego is exceptional while welcoming new visitors into our community. Next year, we will offer programs that allow you to connect more deeply with ideas, Connecting the Dots.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your steadfast support and for being an integral part of our journey!
With gratitude,
Andrew Utt | Executive Director
