Insiders Series: Tijuana Day Trip (July 26)
Join us for an unforgettable day trip to Tijuana on Saturday, July 26, as we explore some of the city’s most exciting contemporary art galleries and museums. Enjoy a curated art experience, complete with a delicious lunch at ORYX by Chef Ruffo Ibarra and private transportation throughout the day.
Led by ICA San Diego Executive Director, Andrew Utt, we’ll begin the day trip from a meeting point at the U.S./Tijuana border crossing in San Ysidro and make our way to Tijuana via the pedestrian crossing. Once in Tijuana, a private driver will whisk us away to meet with local artists and visit several contemporary art museums. In between, we’ll stop for a gourmet lunch. After our final museum visit, we’ll make our way back to the border to return to San Diego.
Highlights include:
- Ingrid Hernández, local artist
- Sala de Espera art gallery
- 206 Arte Contemporaneo art gallery
- El Cubo, art museum at Central Cultural Tijuana (CECUT)
- Lustre Estudio, ceramics studio
- Matiz, design space
